Seasons Greetings!

This year we're closing up shop on Friday 23rd December and will be back on deck on Monday January 9th. If there's any urgent enquries in between, then please call our main phone line.

It's the last week of work this year for most people and we appreciate everyone's in end of year wrap up mode, so the main article this month is a revisit on the topics we've covered this year. There could be a few ideas that you may want to reschedule for review upon your return in 2012. We also have a huge swag of top tidbits and we mention a couple of projects we've completed recently.

From the Avatar Team, thank you very much for supporting us this year. We wish you all a cracking Christmas and superb New Year!

Tidbits

SEO Basics for WordPress. A simple intro to getting started with search engine optimisation on WordPress.

Keep your goals to yourself. Derek Sivers talks for 3 minutes about the research behind why you should not tell people your goals.

iPhone Megaphone. Half French horn, half toilet bowl, quite a striking idea for your iPhone sound system... though we prefer an old-fashioned amplifier system.

DARPA Shredder Challenge. Watch out evil corporates, you might need to upgrade your shredder machine since there are now algorithms that can help piece together documents shredded into 10,000 pieces.

Vegetarian butchers make a killing. 75% of Dutch people don't eat meat on a daily basis and they now have the world's first chain of vegetarian butchers.

Possibly the coolest desks ever made. The Swildens Desks were created in 1966 by Ben Swildens for Peugeot HQ in Paris. Incredible design. Wow.

Rocket simulation. Let us know if you work out how to beat our 419 km altitude score... but we bet you can't get over 93 km.

Stratolaunch Systems change the game. One of the best tech happenings of 2011, this orbital space launch business will be a huge advance for the private space industry and will significantly lower the cost of space access. Exciting stuff for homospaciens.
